Delete your BUFFMAP account and data

You can initiate permanent deletion inside the Android app or request it here without reinstalling the app.

Fastest: delete in the app

  1. Sign in to BUFFMAP.
  2. Open Me.
  3. Select Delete account & data.
  4. Select Confirm permanent deletion.

The app sends an authenticated deletion request. If it fails, the app tells you the account remains active so you can retry.

Request deletion on the web

Email privacy@buffmap.app with the subject “BUFFMAP account deletion request” and include only your public handle. We will reply with a verification path appropriate for a pseudonymous account.

Never email your passphrase, authentication token, or twelve recovery words. We do not need those secrets in an email.

What deletion removes

The current production service deletes the account, its authentication material, status reports linked to the account, records filed by the account, associated timelines, claims and flags tied to those records, and uploaded media for those filed records.

What may be retained

BUFFMAP may retain the minimum information required to document and resolve a legal obligation, security incident, or abuse-prevention case. If a verified exception applies to your request, we will explain the category and reason. Anonymous operational records that were never linked to your account cannot be retrieved by handle.

Timing

Authenticated in-app deletion is processed immediately by the service. Email requests require account-control verification and will be handled as quickly as reasonably possible. We will confirm completion or explain any lawful retention requirement.
